Givatayim Shopping Mall, Givatayim
| Project Type: | A 40,000 square meter (about 400,000 square feet) high market shopping mall |
| Location: | Givataim, Israel |
| Completion: | 2005 |
| Task 1: | Provide seamless floor to ceiling art in a public area subject to foot traffic of thousands of visitors per day. Works have to withstand normal wear and tear, water and other liquids and adhere to fire safety code. |
| Realization: | High quality Giclee prints on fire resistant synthetic canvas were printed in sections measuring three meters (about ten feet) in height and six meters (about twenty feet) in length. Canvas was treated against liquids and covered with a scratch resistant layer. Inspection carried out eighteen months after installation revealed no damages to work despite an 80,000 daily visitors load. |
All works are developed from original artworks by Billie Justine Holmes. Giclee prints on fire resistant synthetic canvas
| Task 2: | Provide an artwork for the ceiling of womens washrooms. Total area over 100 square meters (about 1,000 square feet) |
| Realization: | An acoustic ceiling construction was put in place with profiles of 18mm to reduce grid lines and an artwork was processed in panel size units creating an over 100 square meters ceiling work. Maintenance is simple as ceiling panels are removable and may be placed aside for above ceiling electricity and plumbing work. |
