River Bank Park Plaza Hotel, London

Project Type: A 395-room 4 star business hotel and a 68 suite 5 stars suites hotel on the South bank of the Thames
Location: London, UK
Completion: 2005
Task 1: Provide floor to ceiling striking artworks for rooms placed 40cm (about 18 inch) from bedside and easy to replace in case damaged.
Realization: High quality Giclee prints were mounted on MDF boards and placed inside niches in the wall to create a zero line with the wall surface. Prints were varnished with durable glossy yacht varnish providing further depth to the image and excellent protection to the print. Twelve months after initial installation, not one work, out of 395, required replacement. Works were installed with a quick removal system enabling hotel maintenance staff to replace a work within less than a minute.
Task 2: Provide a unique site-specific artwork for the hotels façade. Work has to have a high UV resistance level, be water protected and fire resistant to adhere to London City Fire Code.
Realization: The hotel is situated on the South Bank of the River Thames opposite Parliament House and the famous Big Ben. The Parliament building and the Big Ben were photographed and the images were processed into an over 100 square meters single image in poison yellow. The striking image was than split into a 52-panel printed work mounted on PVC and installed together with the glass and aluminum structure of the façade.

Task 3: Provide printed wall covering in large dimensions for the ballrooms.
Realization: A painting by one of ArtLinks artists was processed into a large print in three parts. The print was done on canvas and treated for water and fire resistance. The canvas was then mounted seamlessly unto the walls to create a painted "mural effect".
Task 4: Provide work for public areas to complement the hotels design and general atmosphere.
Realization: Various works were printed on canvas and installed in a variety of methods, with and without frames throughout the hotels public spaces.
Task 5:
