Vasile Troian
Vasile Troian, b. 1961
Born in Poduri, Romania, Troian graduated from the Iasi University of Arts in 1987. He spent several years traveling across Europe before settling in New York, where he currently lives and works. His work have been presented at different locations internationally, including National Museum of Art, Bucharest (1988); Generalitat de Catalunya, Art Romanes, Barcelona (1992); Galerie Efeuhaus, Wernigerode (1993); Monnaie de Paris, 2Francophonie, Paris (1994); Kunstlerforum, Bonn (1994); Museum of Ianchelevici, La Louviere (1999).
Thoroughly innovative and equally diverse in his execution, Troian's works are sophisticated, highly intimate creations that call and provoke the viewer's sensations, memory, and emotions.
