Born in Tallinn, Estonia, Mall graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts, Department of Graphic Fine Arts, in 1992, where he is now an assistant lecturer in drawing. Since 1992, he has been an active member of the Association of Estonian Printmakers and the Estonian Artists' Association.
